SV Intle Breeze is a catamaran and a way of life. We're Tracy and Eric — sailing from absolute beginners to ocean explorers, writing it all down as we go.
This site is a living journal: stories from the deck, anchorages we loved, passages that tested us, and the people who made each port worth stopping in.
Our Journey
2001
Our paths crossed in Durban, becoming a couple on September 11, 2001. We built a blended family, raising three wonderful children: Michael, Connor and Makyla.
2005–2022
Career opportunities led us to Stockholm, Sweden, where we grew a successful multi-branded dealership group with 10 dealerships across Sweden.
2014 — to date
We discovered a breathtaking property filled with wildlife, leading to the creation of Intle Boutique Hotel in South Africa.
2018
We discovered our love for sailing through chartering, which opened our eyes to the freedom and adventure of life on the water.
2019
After our first charter, we chartered again to see if this was something we could do full time. We loved it and started looking into buying a boat.
2021
We chartered in Marbella while completing our Day Skipper certification, testing whether we could really do this full time. We could — and we ordered our boat.
2021
After falling in love with chartering, we took the plunge and ordered our own catamaran, marking the beginning of our full-time sailing adventure.
2022
With our children grown, we sold our Swedish business and took delivery of SV Intle Breeze, ready to embrace a full-time life of adventure at sea. The only catch? We had never sailed before.
The Meaning of "Intle"
"Intle" is a Xhosa word (pronounced een-tleh) meaning beautiful, amazing, lovely, handsome — depending on the context.
"Le ndawo intle!" — This place is beautiful.
