Broken Dreams

As I sit here tonight on the top deck of Intle Breeze enjoying a beautiful Monday sunset, which no matter where in the world we are, the beauty of sunrises and sunsets never loses its magic. Also a gentle reminder that all things no matter how beautiful have their time and their season, and with every ending a new beginning awaits.

My heart is heavy tonight,  as in the next few days Lester and Angela will be stepping off Intle Breeze here Trinidad and heading back home to South Africa. This journey together is coming to an end, unfortunately not on our terms but on the terms of governments and embassies, with all the visas bureaucracy.  We have been together for 9 months, sharing every part of our day. Now we will move in different directions, where new journeys will begin.

Our plan was to be cruising together for much longer than this, in fact the discussion was to remain on our journeys together,  until Eric and I got to the point of going through the Panama canal, well this was simply not meant to be, life seems to have other plans for all of us.

They have been an integral part of our journey, and we have become a fantastic team,  with every aspect of boat life and our lives heavily intertwined.  What a pleasure it has been to have them along, there is no one else I would rather have done these passages with, in fact I am having difficulty imagining a continued journey with out you.
