Day 6 Good Friday

Day 6 Good Friday

Good Friday evening everyone, a quick update from mid Atlantic.

Firstly since it is Good Friday and we traditionally do fish on this day, and today is no different, Lester, Angela and Makyla are in charge of the galley today, we are lucky enough to have a fantastic menu, consisting of Calamari and Crayfish what an awesome thing to be doing out in the middle of the ocean we are all feeling very spoilt.

I have been holding onto my fresh veggies for dear life as I need to do an Easter Sunday roast lamb and fresh veg. Sadly no potatoes on this boat, but we are grateful for still being spoilt as we are still well stocked with many other luxuries, so we will not complain about potatoes. No matter where we are, be it on land or sea, we will always celebrate special days.

It has been a week since we left St Helena Island, the wind and the sea have been very kind to us. We have had gentle winds and following seas all week. Everyone is in great spirits, crew moral is good and everyone is healthy, of course this makes me very happy.

We have gained some good miles, as Mr Oxley went up again yesterday, the wind was just at the right angle for him, we are averaging around 7,5 knots, at this speed we should be in Salvador in 5-6 days, however it does look like we will lose wind in the next couple of days, so in fact we will probably take a while longer to get there. We are in no rush as it is truly glorious out here at the moment.
