Flowers and Me

Tonight I sit on the boat by myself with an awesome Petite Chablis, watching the most magnificent sun set while Eric and Makyla are out having some Daddy daughter time, Lester and Angela are having some alone time out for a dinner.

As you may have noticed on the crossing, I really enjoy the solace of being by myself and now that we are not sailing,  I am accompanied by my ever reliable fermented friend of white grapes 😁

We have been away from Sweden for close on 6 months and I am really starting to miss my boys like crazy, so I am feeling very excited about heading home in a month from now.

A quick update on our Captain, with physio 3x a week, (see the picture that makes me realise just how tall my husband is 😂) doctors visits and more X-rays the doc is very happy with his progress and it appears that by the time we get back from Europe, we will be able to resume sailing, thankfully, as this could have brought our sailing life to an end, this is a real moment of gratitude.  For the most part the single seater Benz has been parked and he is now navigating life on crutches alone, although there is still the hysterical site of him crawling up the stairs out of the cabin. 😂 Just on a side note, I will rather deal with him having a broken foot than man flu......because that is just out of control. The broken foot Eric is very loving and helpful. 😂

For all my outstanding nursing that has been going on, 😂 he brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers this evening, of course I just love flowers can't get enough of them, he definitely secured some brownie points here.

Lester and Angela have been really getting into paddle boarding, so most days they head out on the boards for some exercise, and of course both the water and weather are perfect for this. Meanwhile Makyla and I have joined a gym to try and work off some of this restaurant food that we are carrying around 😂

As most of you know it was Lesters birthday on Friday, we celebrated with some pre-dinner drinks on the boat and went off to Mistura restaurant for a celebration, with the family that we do have around us, we missed Tayah and Mom these are the challenges and emotions we face when searching for adventure

So many different things have happened over the last days, which have been fantastic because Eric is so much more mobile so we are moving around a lot at the moment.  We decided to go back to Origem for another outstanding dinner, but not before Makyla took it upon herself to give Dad a much needed shave, playing the invalid role has now shifted to a new phase 😂  my husband loathes shaving.

Like good Swedes we made the time to watch Eurovision, and roped the South Africans in too, with our own very professional running commentary.

More dinners out and some lazy days making home-made pasta, life was starting to feel normal and a little less stressful, gosh it feels like its been a really long ride.

Hey Hey It's Mothers Day!

Early afternoon I received the most amazing and enormous bunch of flowers. Such beauty, in the flowers that nature gives us. Some people think these days are so commercialised, and yes they certainly have become this way, however it forces us to take a moment, out of the chaos of this world and appreciate and enjoy the beautiful pleasure of being privileged enough to have brought human beings into this world, with all its trials and tribulations it is the most phenomenal and mind blowing part of being a human, part of nature and our circle of life.
